The dust jacket is unclipped,clean with a tiny bit of shelf wear but really hard to see. The black covers are clean and there is gilt lettering on the tight spine. There are 370 illustrations,120 color photos,and 253 printed pages. The pages are clean,crisp,and bright with not writing dog-ears,loose pages or tears.  This easy reading book ,the print is large and the author ,Cedric Jagger uses mostly layman terms. Many would find this book interesting just for the historical information. The book starts with early non mechanical timepieces and then explains basic ingredients of timepieces. He dedicates a chapter on significant advancements in time. It also has an extensive index and bibliography. This is really a nice book for the watch or clock collector or even one who enjoys history.    A word about shipping, first I ship using a box.  Next I had a bad experience using media mail as it took 23 days to be delivered to NY. Please decide how you want it mailed if not media mail and check the cost. I will also check to see about insurance as it should only be a couple of dollars if it can be purchased. Please be patient with the USPS.
