Description
TRANSTAR Euro Classic Primer Kit, GRAY, 7241-7254 (Gallon)Euro Classic Primer is a two component primer surfacer that can be applied direct to metal surfaces. It is quick drying and easy to sand wet or dry. It provides corrosion protection along with excellent fill and build properties. This unique
primer provides improvements in productivity and reduces cycle times while providing significant labor and material savings. This primer can also be tinted using Transtar’s exclusive “Star Shade” system for a better match.
Mix Ratio:
Primer Surfacer: 4:1
Primer Sealer: 4:1:1½
Pot Life: 3 hours @ 70°F (21°C) and 50% RH
HVLP/LVLP:
1.4 - 1.8 mm
2 - 3 medium wet coats
5 - 10 minute flash
1.5 - 2.5 mils per coat (dry film thickness)
Please refer to gun manufacturer for proper spray pressure recommendations
Dry to Sand Times:
50°F (10°C) 70°F (20°C) 90 °F (32°C) 140°F (60°C) (force dry)
4 - 6 hours 1½ - 2 hours 1 hour 30 minutes
Recoat without sanding: 20 minutes to 2 hours
Sanding:
DA (Dry): #220, finish #320 - 400 Hand (Wet): #400, finish #500 - 600
Application & Mixing:
Stir primer thoroughly before use. Mix 4 parts primer with 1 part activator. Apply 2 - 3 medium wet coats, allowing 5 - 10 minutes flash time between coats, using the gun settings listed below. Film build is approximately 1.5 - 2.5 mils
per coat (dry film thickness). In temperatures below 68°F (20°C), allow a 10 - 15 minute flash time between coats to insure proper cure.
