MEASUREMENT OF TIME
17TH CENTURY TABLE CLOCK
This is an example of a Table Clock of the early 17th century. It is in a brass case, with silver
hour ring, divided into twelve.
Characteristic features which note a pronounced departure from the earliest specimens are
the glass panels in the sides of the case and the bronze feet, which give a better effect than is
obtained with the primitive flat hexagonal and octagonal clocks, besides allowing space for
the bell to project below the bottom surface of the case.
THE REVERSE SIDE HAS TEXT ABOUT THE IMAGE ON THE FRONT SIDE
